Overview
This design features the creation of packaging a travel kit of my creation. I chose to create a brand called Planetary Pancreas, which would make travel kits for type one diabetics. I designed the packaging for the physical backpack, glucose tablets, medical sharps disposal container, and ice packs.
Ideation, Brainstorming, and Thumbnails
I started my brainstorming by reaching out to a few individuals that I know who are type one diabetics. These individuals are between the ages of 20 and 25. When talking to them, I discovered that most medical supplies appear to be designed for individuals who are middle to late aged. With this design I wanted to make something that spoke to the younger generation. I decided to go with a space theme, which is where the tagline, “for your out of this world pancreas” came from.
Final
For each product I chose to use a different color of galaxy. The main focus of these designs was creating something that my target audience can identify with. I wanted to create something that can add a little joy and whimsy to an otherwise hard situation.
